Schumacher Electric Corp., a maker of automotive components, is moving its headquarters from the Chicago suburb of Mount Prospect to Fort Worth in a space that will include a 300,000-square-foot warehouse and a 30,000-square-foot office.
According to a report by Ryan Salchert of the Dallas Business Journal, the new facility will feature R&D space, an engineering lab, and a garage for simulation testing. The move is expected to be completed later this summer.
Schumacher already has 150 employees in North Texas and plans to add 100 more. Schumacher’s CEO Mickey Leech described Texas as “corporate friendly” and a “very desirable location,” a viewpoint obviously shared by 16 other companies that in 2021 have opened a new headquarters or relocated their headquarters from another state to North Texas.
